The study is based on a student work that was carried out in autumn 2005 during an internship at Unfallanalyse Berlin. Experts from Germany aided to collect deceleration values through executing several brake experiments with both tyre types. The measured values were placed at the author’s disposal for adequate evaluation. Moreover, the author carried out own brake experiments. The experiments were conducted at temperatures between -2 and +7 °C and contained a wide spectrum of motor vehicle types and tyre manufacturers. For all evaluated experiments the same conditions, the same place and time figures could be guaranteed.
