The correct use of strap-on load restraints for goods transport depends to a large extent on the operator and the loads on the load. Incorrect use and overloading can lead to dangerous situations during transport. The aim of this study is to investigate the use of strapping load restraints used for load securing in different plants. The measurements show that the buckles of correctly secured loads can change considerably under external influences (e.g. emergency braking), so it is reasonable to check the tension of the strap continuously to increase the safety of transport.

Measurements were also carried out to test the operation of a sling slack detection device that independently detected a loss of sling slack, thus indicating to the driver that the anchorage was not in a satisfactory condition.
