This presentation links the technical check of guard rails with the forensic examination of accidents with vehicles impacting against guard rails. It presents impact experiments which were conducted following the German guidelines for the safety of guard rails. Impact speed and impact angle are provided; the experiments can thus help reconstructing similar accidents.
