The paper describes seven collision experiments with motorcycles impacting the side of stationary passenger cars. All experiments were conducted at speeds of about 100 km/h. The aim of the study was to gain further insights on this type of collision. The analysis of the results shows that accidents with impact speeds above 60 km/h are very likely to cause fatal injuries on the side of the motorcycle rider.
