When analysing accidents one is frequently confronted with recurring sequences of accident events. The collision of two vehicles which are driving side by side while attempting to change lanes is one of them. At the 2002 annual EVU meeting in Portoroz we presented the results of our investigations which were based on road trials, theoretical reflections and collision tests. Subsequent to our investigations there were still some open questions which have been examined since then and are to be discussed here.
